Expression of Interest from Corporate Tenant

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

An email address somebody actually reads. Notices under a document like this can be sent to it, so a working one matters more than a tidy one.

A number somebody can be reached on. Ten digits is the usual Indian form, and a country code in front of it is fine if you want it there.

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the whole document, not a sample of it. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO LEASE COMMERCIAL PREMISES

A letter from a prospective corporate tenant, recording serious interest before any term sheet or lease is negotiated

Date: __________
Place: __________

To: __________, __________ (the "Recipient")
__________

From: __________, __________, of __________ (the "Tenant")

Dear Sir/Madam,

Re: Expression of interest in __________, __________ (the "Premises")

  1. WHY THE TENANT IS WRITING

1.1 The Tenant is considering taking the Premises on lease, and writes to record its serious interest in doing so, before any term sheet, letter of intent or lease is negotiated between the Tenant and the Recipient.

  1. WHAT THE TENANT IS LOOKING FOR

2.1 The Tenant is presently looking for approximately __________ square feet of __________, for use as __________.

2.2 The Tenant's indicative budget for rent is in the range of __________ to __________ per month. This range is indicative only: it depends on the final area, condition and terms of the Premises, and it is not an offer capable of acceptance.

2.3 The Tenant is hoping to take occupancy on or around __________.

  1. WHAT THE TENANT WOULD LIKE FROM THE RECIPIENT

3.1 To help the Tenant take this further, the Tenant would be grateful if the Recipient could send, at the earliest convenience: floor plans and the layout of the Premises and of the area available; the pricing or rent presently being quoted for the Premises, including maintenance, taxes and any other charges that would be payable in addition to rent; and the current availability of the Premises, and of any comparable space in the same project.

  1. THIS LETTER DOES NOT BIND EITHER PARTY

4.1 This letter is an expression of interest only. It records the Tenant's present intention, to help the Tenant and the Recipient decide whether to take this further. It does not commit the Tenant to lease the Premises, and it does not commit the Recipient to let the Premises to the Tenant.

4.2 Neither party has any claim against the other arising out of this letter. No term sheet, letter of intent, agreement to lease or lease deed comes into existence unless and until a separate document recording agreed terms is signed by both the Tenant and the Recipient, and this letter does not create, and is not intended to create, any interest in or right over the Premises.

4.3 This letter is not, and is not to be treated as, earnest money, a booking or a reservation of the Premises.

  1. HOW LONG THIS STAYS OPEN

5.1 The Tenant would appreciate a response by __________. After that date the Tenant is free to pursue other premises, and this letter lapses without either party owing the other anything on account of it.

Yours faithfully,

For __________

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
