LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: Order XXXII Rule 7 CPC requires express court leave before a next friend or guardian for the suit compromises for a minor; Rule 7(1A) requires the supporting affidavit and, where represented, the pleader benefit certificate. A compromise without leave is voidable against parties other than the minor. Section 8 of the Hindu Minority and Guardianship Act, 1956 governs a natural guardian dealings with minor separate immovable property; section 12 separately addresses undivided joint-family interest. Exact court fee/appeal route for the particular leave order were not confirmed.

Chandigarh: The same CPC and Hindu minority protections apply in the competent Chandigarh civil court. Sector/estate property must later be reflected in the Estate Office file under the 1952 Act and 2007 Rules. Exact court/record fees were not confirmed.
