Defaulter Reminder Notice

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Your answers

Nothing answered yet. There are 25 questions on this form.

Still to answer

23 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The society, the member and the unit
  2. The arrears
  3. Signing and privacy

Step 1 of 3

The society, the member and the unit

For example: ABC Cooperative House Building Society Ltd

For example: CHD/COOP/118

What is the society registered office address?Needed
Which jurisdiction applies?Needed

For example: Aarav Sharma

For example: M-118

What is the member correspondence address?Needed

For example: Flat 804

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: Share Certificate SC-118

For example: Resolution 14 dated 01 September 2026

More details — you may leave these

A calendar date — the day, the month and the year. Dates in a document like this are read against one another, so a date typed here can change what another date is allowed to be.

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the whole document, not a sample of it. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

DEFAULTER REMINDER NOTICE

Reminder date: __________

Society: __________. Member: __________, member no. __________, unit __________. Ledger period: __________ to __________.

Principal: __________. Total due: __________. Ledger: __________.

Please pay by __________ using __________. Ledger dispute route: __________.

RECORD PARTICULARS

What is the society registration number? __________

What is the society registered office address? __________

Which jurisdiction applies? __________

What is the member correspondence address? __________

What society/property record identifies the unit? __________

What committee/general-body resolution supports the action? __________

REMINDER PURPOSE

This reminder is an account-reconciliation step before escalation. It asks the member to compare the society ledger against receipts, bank credits and approved charge heads and to identify any missing credit before the society treats the balance as uncontested.

LEDGER DISCIPLINE

The Society should preserve invoice dates, payment dates, credit-note references and the source for every interest or late-charge entry. A reminder should never convert an unexplained bookkeeping balance into an admitted debt merely because a deadline is printed on it.

MEMBER RESPONSE

If the member supplies a payment proof or disputes a line item, the Society should reconcile that item against its books before carrying the same figure into a final recovery notice. The reminder remains open to correction until the ledger is reconciled.

NO RECOVERY CERTIFICATE YET

This document does not assert that the debt already qualifies for a recovery certificate, nor does it decide a section 55 dispute. It preserves the first formal demand and the member opportunity to correct the account.

EARLY RECONCILIATION

This reminder is deliberately a pre-escalation account check. The society should compare every claimed debit against the member ledger and every claimed credit against bank receipts before moving to a final notice.

MEMBER CORRECTION WINDOW

A member who produces a payment reference, credit note or evidence of an incorrect charge should receive a corrected ledger before the same balance is repeated in later proceedings. The reminder does not turn a disputed bookkeeping entry into an admitted debt.

LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 governs this defaulter reminder notice. Section 55 provides the Registrar reference route for qualifying disputes touching the constitution, management or business of the society. The first society action is taken by the managing committee or general body under the registered bye-laws; the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Punjab receives a statutory reference when section 55 applies. This notice is not itself an appealable order; a qualifying challenge proceeds through the section 55 Registrar dispute route.

Chandigarh: The Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 and Punjab Co-operative Societies Rules, 1963 apply to cooperative societies in UT Chandigarh. Section 55 provides the equivalent Registrar dispute route, administered locally by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, UT Chandigarh. The current filing fee and period for the precise section 55 filing in this document were not confirmed from the sources used. This notice is not itself an appealable order; a qualifying challenge proceeds through the section 55 Registrar dispute route.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
