LEGAL BASIS
In Chandigarh a sector site is held under the Capital of Punjab (Development and Regulation) Act, 1952 and the Chandigarh Estate Rules, 2007, and using it for a purpose other than the one allowed attracts misuse charges under Rule 10 of those Rules. A change-of-use application does not authorise the new use until it is granted.
