A bank has sanctioned, or is considering, an education loan for a student, and you — usually a parent — are the co-applicant/co-borrower on that loan. This records your undertaking to be jointly and severally liable for repayment, alongside the student, and confirms you have understood the loan terms before the bank disburses.

ਹੇਠਾਂ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ-ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਦਲਦੀ ਹੈ — ਭਾਵ ਹੇਠਲੀਆਂ ਰਕਮਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦਰਾਂ ਬਦਲਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬ-ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਰਟੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

EDUCATION LOAN CO-APPLICANT UNDERTAKING

I, Sunita Rao, resident of House No. 302, Sector 9, Panchkula, PAN ABCDE1234F, Bank employee, monthly income approximately Rs 85,000, being the Father (X) of Rohan Rao ("the Student"), address the following undertaking to Punjab National Bank, Sector 8, Panchkula ("the Bank"):

1. That the Student has applied for, or been sanctioned, an education loan of ₹18,00,000 (Rupees Eighteen Lakh only) (reference: Sanction Letter No. EDU/2026/00789) to fund their course, B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, at Manipal Institute of Technology.

2. That I am the co-applicant/co-borrower on this loan, and I undertake to be jointly and severally liable, together with the Student, for repayment of the entire loan amount together with interest, charges and costs, in accordance with the Bank's sanction letter and loan agreement.

3. That I have read and understood the Bank's sanction terms, including that repayment is expected to begin One year after course completion, or six months after obtaining employment, whichever is earlier, as per the sanction letter, and I undertake to ensure timely repayment even if the Student is, for any reason, unable to do so.

4. That, as to security: No collateral security has been offered; the loan is unsecured up to the bank’s own limit for a loan of this kind

5. That I confirm the information given by me in the Bank's loan application form is true and correct, and I authorise the Bank to verify it, including with my employer and with credit information companies.

6. That I understand this undertaking is given in support of, and subject to, the Bank's own loan agreement and sanction letter, which remain the governing documents for this loan.
