POSH Policy and Internal Committee Order

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

POLICY ON THE PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT OF WOMEN AT THE WORKPLACE

  1. 1. Our commitment. __________ (the Company) does not tolerate sexual harassment of any person at work. Every woman working here, in any capacity, has the right to a workplace free of it. This policy is made under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 and its Rules (the Act).
  1. 2. Who it covers. It covers all employees, whether regular, contract, temporary, trainee or intern, and any visitor, client or vendor's staff who deals with the Company at __________, and any place visited in the course of work, including travel arranged by the Company.
  1. 3. What it means. Sexual harassment includes unwelcome physical contact or advances, a demand or request for sexual favours, sexually coloured remarks, showing pornography, and any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature, in person or by phone, message or email. The Act's own definition governs where it differs from this summary.
  1. 5. What the Committee does. The Committee may, if the woman asks, first try to settle the matter by conciliation, but no money may be fixed as the settlement. Otherwise it inquires into the complaint, hearing both sides and recording its reasons. The inquiry is to be completed within ninety days, and the Committee gives its report within ten days after that. The Company acts on the report within sixty days.
  1. 6. Interim relief. While the inquiry is pending, the Committee may recommend that the complainant be given leave, or be moved, or that the respondent be moved, as the Act allows.
  1. 7. Outcome. If the allegation is proved, the Company will take action under its service rules or the law, which may include a written warning, withholding of increments, or termination, and deduction of compensation from the respondent's wages where the Act provides. If it is not proved, no action is taken against the complainant; a complaint is penalised only if it is shown to be knowingly false.
  1. 8. Confidentiality and protection. The names and details of the parties and witnesses, and the Committee's proceedings, are kept confidential and are not made public. No one will be victimised for making a complaint or for giving evidence in good faith.
  1. 9. Awareness. The Company will display this policy and the Committee's names, hold awareness sessions for staff each year, and prepare the annual report the Act requires.
  1. 10. Workplaces with fewer than ten employees. Where the Company has fewer than ten employees at a workplace, a complaint goes to the Local Committee set up by the district authority, and not to an Internal Committee.

ORDER CONSTITUTING THE INTERNAL COMMITTEE

In exercise of the duty placed on the Company by the Act, and the workplace having __________ employees, the Company constitutes an Internal Committee for __________ with these members:

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
