LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 provides the court appointment/declaration framework; sections 29 and 31 govern restrictions and court permission for specified dealings by a court-appointed property guardian. The competent District Court receives the application under the Act's jurisdiction provisions. The current Punjab court fee and processing period were not confirmed. Appeal rights arise under section 47 for the categories of guardianship orders listed there.

Chandigarh: The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 applies through the competent District Court at Chandigarh; sections 29 and 31 protect a minor's immovable-property interests from unauthorised dealing by a court-appointed property guardian. The current Chandigarh court fee and processing period were not confirmed. Section 47 identifies appealable orders under the Act.
