LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 provides the court appointment/declaration framework; sections 29 and 31 govern restrictions and court permission for specified dealings by a court-appointed property guardian. The competent District Court receives the application under the Act's jurisdiction provisions. The current Punjab court fee and processing period were not confirmed. Chandigarh: The Guardians and Wards Act, 1890 applies through the competent District Court at Chandigarh; sections 29 and 31 protect a minor's immovable-property interests from unauthorised dealing by a court-appointed property guardian. The current Chandigarh court fee and processing period were not confirmed. Section 47 identifies appealable orders under the Act.
