Mutation Status Enquiry Application

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Still to answer

15 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the whole document, not a sample of it. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

MUTATION STATUS ENQUIRY APPLICATION

Enquiry date: __________

Applicant: __________, __________. Mutation/application no.: __________. Original application date: __________.

Property: __________, __________, __________; __________; __________.

Last known stage: __________.

Information requested: __________.

Please provide the current stage, pending action and final order/reference when available.

LEGAL BASIS

In Punjab a mutation moves through one chain: the Halqa Patwari enters it in the register of mutations, the Field Kanungo validates the entry, and the Circle Revenue Officer, a Naib Tehsildar or Tehsildar, attests, sanctions or rejects it. This enquiry asks where the mutation stands in that chain. A sanctioned mutation is good from the date of the order whether or not it has reached a jamabandi. An order sanctioning or rejecting a mutation can be appealed under section 13 of the Act, within thirty days to the Collector (section 14). In Chandigarh only the Union Territory's revenue villages carry a jamabandi, and mutations there are attested by the Tehsildar or Naib Tehsildar of the Union Territory; a sector property held from the Estate Office is not mutated this way.

PERSONAL DATA NOTICE

This notice is given under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Personal data in this document is collected only to obtain and retain the current status and pending-action information for the identified mutation, communicate about that purpose, verify expressly supplied land-record information and retain an evidentiary filing record.

The record will be held by __________ and may be shown only to the applicant, affected right-holder, authorised advocate or representative, revenue or estate authority, registering authority, lender or other person directly involved in the stated mutation or record-of-rights process.

If the request is withdrawn, refused or does not proceed, personal data will be retained for 90 days and then erased. If the request proceeds, the record will be retained for the proceeding plus 12 months, except where a statute or official record-retention rule requires a longer named period.

A person named in this document may withdraw consent for future consent-based processing, request correction or erasure when the stated purpose has ended, or raise a grievance by writing to __________. The record-holder should acknowledge and respond within 30 days.

Data minimisation: this document does not collect a full Aadhaar number, an Aadhaar-card copy, a password or unrelated financial information, and none should be written into it unless the receiving authority's own lawful verification process specifically requires it.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
