ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਆਪ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ, ਬੈਂਕ ਜਾਂ ਅਦਾਲਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਲਿਖੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਂਚ ਕੇ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਮੰਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਵੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਅਨੁਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਪਾਠ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਰਕ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਸੂਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਪਾਠ ਹੀ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਕਦੋਂ ਲੋੜ ਪੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ

You have vacated a rented home in Punjab or Chandigarh and handed back possession, and the landlord has not refunded your security deposit within a reasonable time or within the period your tenancy agreement fixes for it. This notice formally demands the refund, states any deduction the landlord has claimed and whether you accept or dispute it, and puts the landlord on notice before you take the matter further.

Not for a dispute still going on WHILE you are in occupation — this notice assumes you have already vacated and handed back the keys. Not for demanding the deposit back before the tenancy has actually ended, which is a different and weaker position.

ਹੇਠਾਂ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਹੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ-ਕਿੱਥੇ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਬਦਲਦੀ ਹੈ — ਭਾਵ ਹੇਠਲੀਆਂ ਰਕਮਾਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਦਰਾਂ ਬਦਲਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸਬ-ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਠੀਕ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਰਟੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।

Dear Sir/Madam,

1. I was your tenant at Flat No. 12, Model Town Extension, Ludhiana, under a tenancy agreement dated 1 April 2026. I vacated the premises and handed back possession on 2 April 2026. Keys handed over in person to the landlord on the vacating date, with a WhatsApp message confirming the same

2. I had paid you a security deposit of ₹60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only) at the commencement of the tenancy.

3. No deduction has been claimed, or discussed, by the landlord

4. All rent, electricity, water and other charges due from me up to the date of vacating have been paid in full

5. The net amount now due to me is ₹52,000 (Rupees Fifty Two Thousand only).

6. No interest is separately claimed at this stage, only the deposit amount itself

7. You are called upon to refund the amount due within 15 days of receipt of this notice, as follows: By bank transfer to: [bank name, account number, IFSC, account holder name], or by a cheque delivered to my current address above.

8. Failing refund within that period, I shall be constrained to approach the Rent Controller, the appropriate consumer forum, or such other forum as advised, at Ludhiana, for recovery with interest and costs, at your risk and consequence.

This notice is sent: Registered post with acknowledgement due, and a copy by email/WhatsApp.
