Poultry Contract Farming Agreement

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Your answers

Nothing answered yet. There are 6 questions on this form.

Still to answer

6 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The company and the grower
  2. The shed and what each side supplies
  3. Growing charge and norms
  4. Term and signing

Step 1 of 4

The company and the grower

For example: Northern Poultry Integrators Private Limited, through its authorised officer Ramesh Verma

What is the company (integrator)'s address?Needed

A number somebody can be reached on. Ten digits is the usual Indian form, and a country code in front of it is fine if you want it there.

For example: 98140-00000

For example: Harjinder Singh

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

POULTRY CONTRACT FARMING AGREEMENT

BETWEEN

__________, of __________, mobile __________ (the "Company");

AND

__________, of __________, mobile __________ (the "Grower").

  1. 1. THE ARRANGEMENT

1.2 The chicks, the feed, the medicines and vaccines, and the birds at every stage, are and remain the Company's property. The Grower does not buy them, and has no right to sell, give, pledge or use them for any other purpose. The Grower is a grower of the Company's birds, not the Company's employee or partner.

1.3 The Company gets no right in the Grower's land or the Shed. It may enter the Shed only to place and lift birds, to deliver feed and medicine, and to inspect the birds, at reasonable times and with notice where it can be given.

  1. 2. WHAT THE COMPANY SUPPLIES

2.1 For each batch the Company shall supply healthy day-old chicks from a source it trusts, the feed the birds need at each stage, the medicines and vaccines, and the technical advice of its supervisor, who shall visit the Shed regularly.

2.2 The Company shall deliver the chicks and feed on the dates it tells the Grower, shall give a written note of the quantity of chicks and feed delivered for each batch, and shall lift the grown birds on the date it tells the Grower, within a day or two of the target age.

2.3 If the Company is late in lifting the birds, it shall pay for the extra feed and care of the extra days on a basis written in its schedule, and the Grower is not blamed for a poorer conversion caused by the delay.

  1. 3. WHAT THE GROWER SUPPLIES AND DOES

3.2 The Grower shall look after the birds with proper care, follow the Company's written rearing instructions and vaccination schedule, keep the Shed clean, dry and ventilated, keep a daily record of feed used, birds that die and medicine given, and show it to the Company's supervisor on request.

3.3 The Grower shall not bring other birds into the Shed, shall not sell or remove any bird, feed or medicine, shall dispose of dead birds in the safe way the law and the Company's instructions require, and shall tell the Company at once of any sickness, unusual deaths or loss of power or water.

3.4 The Grower shall obey every law and order for the time being in force on poultry, including any duty to report an outbreak of disease to the animal-husbandry authorities, and shall allow culling of birds if the authorities or a veterinarian require it.

  1. 4. GROWING CHARGE AND PAYMENT
  1. 5. LOSS OF BIRDS

5.1 The loss of birds by disease or death within the mortality norm, or caused by faulty chicks, feed or medicine supplied by the Company, or by an outbreak that is not due to the Grower's neglect, a natural calamity or an order of the authorities, is the Company's loss. The Grower shall not be charged for it, and the charge for the batch shall be worked out on the birds lifted.

5.2 The loss of birds, feed or medicine through the Grower's neglect, theft from the Shed, breaking the Company's instructions or selling or removing them is the Grower's loss, to the extent the Company proves it with the records, and may be set off against the charge only after the Grower has seen the proof and had seven days to answer.

  1. 6. ENDING THE CONTRACT

6.2 If one side seriously breaks this agreement and does not put it right within fifteen days of a written notice, the other may end it at once, still completing and paying for the batch in the Shed.

6.3 This agreement gives the Company no right to the Grower's land or Shed and gives the Grower no right to the birds, and at its end each side takes back what is its own.

  1. 7. DISPUTES

7.1 The parties shall first try to settle any dispute by talking, if they wish with the help of respected elders or the village panchayat.

  1. 8. GENERAL

8.1 This is the whole agreement between the parties. Any change must be in writing and signed by both. The Company has given the Grower a copy of its rearing instructions and its charge schedule before the first batch.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
