Standing Crop Sale Agreement

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Your answers

Nothing answered yet. There are 6 questions on this form.

Still to answer

6 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The seller and the buyer
  2. The field and the crop
  3. Price and harvest
  4. Signing

Step 1 of 4

The seller and the buyer

For example: Nirmal Singh

What is the seller (the farmer)'s address?Needed

A number somebody can be reached on. Ten digits is the usual Indian form, and a country code in front of it is fine if you want it there.

For example: 98140-00000

For example: Rajinder Kumar

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

STANDING CROP SALE AGREEMENT

BETWEEN

__________, of __________, mobile __________ (the "Seller");

AND

__________, of __________, mobile __________ (the "Buyer").

  1. 1. THE CROP

1.2 The Seller states that the Crop is his own, free of any pledge or claim of another person, and that no one else has been promised it.

  1. 2. PRICE AND PAYMENT
  1. 3. HARVEST AND REMOVAL

3.2 The Buyer may enter the field only to cut and carry the Crop within that time. He shall not damage the field bunds, watercourses, tubewell, trees or other property of the Seller, and shall not graze animals or stack material on the land beyond what harvesting needs.

3.3 The Seller keeps possession of the land throughout. This agreement gives the Buyer no lease, tenancy or other right in the land.

3.4 If the Buyer does not finish by the Last Date, the Seller may harvest or dispose of what is left on the Buyer's account, after giving the Buyer seven days' written notice, and may keep from the amount paid whatever loss he suffers, giving an account of it.

  1. 4. RISK

4.1 Until the Crop is cut, the Seller looks after it. If the Crop is destroyed or badly damaged before harvest by hail, flood, fire, pest, theft or any other cause outside the Buyer's control, the Buyer may either take what is left at a fair reduced price agreed in writing or cancel this agreement, and in the second case the Seller shall return what the Buyer has paid within fifteen days.

4.2 Once the Buyer has cut the Crop, it is at the Buyer's risk. Any compensation or insurance money for loss to the Crop before harvest belongs to the Seller unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.

4.3 The Buyer shall not burn any crop residue left on the land in breach of any law or order for the time being in force.

  1. 5. DISPUTES

5.1 The parties shall first try to settle any dispute by talking, if they wish with the help of respected elders or the village panchayat.

  1. 6. GENERAL

6.1 This is the whole agreement on this Crop. Any change must be in writing and signed by both parties.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
