A food business operator wants a signed declaration recording its FSSAI registration or licence particulars and confirming it meets the basic requirements of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the Regulations made under it — to support a fresh application, a renewal, or simply to hand to a landlord, distributor or buyer who wants it on file. Every person carrying on a food business in India needs either Basic Registration or a Licence under the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011, depending on the scale of the business: broadly, Basic Registration for a petty food business operator with annual turnover up to Rs 12 lakh, a State Licence above that and up to Rs 20 crore, and a Central Licence above Rs 20 crore or for specified categories of business regardless of turnover — confirm the current thresholds and categories against the Regulations before relying on the tier stated here, since they are revised from time to time. This declaration records which tier the business falls in and confirms compliance with the premises, hygiene and labelling requirements those Regulations set. For any food business in Punjab or Chandigarh. Not the registration or licence application itself, which is filed online through the Food Safety Compliance System (FoSCoS) at foscos.fssai.gov.in.

None. A factual self-declaration by a food business operator is not an instrument chargeable under Schedule I or Schedule I-A of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, in either Punjab or Chandigarh. Plain paper, on the operator's own letterhead, is sufficient.

Not registrable under the Registration Act, 1908, and unrelated to registration under that Act. The only registration this document concerns is Basic Registration or licensing under the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011, applied for online through FoSCoS, which this declaration records rather than replaces.

नोटरी

Not required by the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 or the Regulations made under it. This declaration is signed on the Food Business Operator's own authority.

FSSAI DECLARATION

I/We, Neena Verma, a sole proprietorship concern, trading as "Verma Sweets & Bakers" at House No. 76, Phase 3B2, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) 160059, in the State of Punjab (the "Food Business Operator"), do hereby declare as follows.

  1. The Food Business Operator carries on the business of a manufacturer or processor of food products.
  1. The category of food products dealt with is: Bakery products and sweets, including milk-based sweets.
  1. The annual turnover of the food business is ₹9,50,000 (Rupees Nine Lakh Fifty Thousand only), and on that basis the Food Business Operator holds, or is applying for, Basic Registration under the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011.
