Still to answer

28 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

A calendar date — the day, the month and the year. Dates in a document like this are read against one another, so a date typed here can change what another date is allowed to be.

For example: 16 November 2026

For example: Patiala

How will the notice be sent?Needed

For example: Bajwa Furniture House

At what address is the notice sent?Needed

An email address somebody actually reads. Notices under a document like this can be sent to it, so a working one matters more than a tidy one.

For example: info@bajwafurniture.example.com

For example the manufacturer or the head office, with their addresses; leave blank if none.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: Zenith Home Appliances Pvt Ltd, 14 Industrial Area, Phase 2, Chandigarh 160002, the manufacturer

For example: Gurpreet Singh Dhillon

What is your address?Needed

An email address somebody actually reads. Notices under a document like this can be sent to it, so a working one matters more than a tidy one.

For example: gurpreet.dhillon@example.com

A number somebody can be reached on. Ten digits is the usual Indian form, and a country code in front of it is fine if you want it there.

For example: +91 98150 47731

For example: Defective sofa set supplied against invoice No. BF/2026/932 dated 4 August 2026

What did you do with them?Needed

A calendar date — the day, the month and the year. Dates in a document like this are read against one another, so a date typed here can change what another date is allowed to be.

For example: 4 August 2026

An amount in rupees. Commas and a ₹ sign are both fine — write it the way you would write it anywhere else, and the document is given the tidy form of it.

For example: 72000

For example: UPI transfer on 4 August 2026

For example: invoice No. BF/2026/932 dated 4 August 2026

Describe the item or service: make, model, the work agreed, and what you were promised.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: A five-seater sofa set in solid sheesham wood and leatherette, delivered on 10 August 2026, which the shop described as a ten-year frame with a two-year upholstery warranty.

The fault in plain facts: what happens, how often, and what it was supposed to do.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: Within three weeks the leatherette peeled off both armrests and one leg of the three-seater split along the joint, so the sofa rocks when anyone sits on it.

A calendar date — the day, the month and the year. Dates in a document like this are read against one another, so a date typed here can change what another date is allowed to be.

For example: 1 September 2026

Each complaint: the date, how you made it (call, message, email, visit), whom you told, and any reference number.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: I phoned the shop on 2 September 2026 and visited on 6 September 2026, when the manager promised to send a carpenter. No one came. I messaged on 14 and 22 September 2026.

The latest answer from them, in a sentence or two; leave blank if none.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: The manager said on 25 September 2026 that the damage was caused by use and would not be covered.

The quality, life or performance they promised in the bill, the brochure, the warranty or in words, addressed to them.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: You promised a ten-year frame and a two-year upholstery warranty, and the fault appeared within the first month.

The loss, trouble and expense it has caused, in plain facts.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: I cannot use the sofa set, I have lost working time on three days waiting for the carpenter, and I have had to borrow chairs for the household.

An amount in rupees. Commas and a ₹ sign are both fine — write it the way you would write it anywhere else, and the document is given the tidy form of it.

For example: 3500

What do you require them to do?Needed

For example: 15000

For example: the cost of borrowed chairs, the time lost and the repeated trouble

A sentence telling them how to pay you: transfer to your account (holder, bank, branch, account number and IFSC) or a demand draft; never a PIN, OTP or password.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: Please pay by transfer to my savings account No. 3318002100045512 with Punjab National Bank, Urban Estate branch, Patiala, IFSC PUNB0331800, or by demand draft payable to me delivered at my address above.

For example: sofa set, its delivery records and the messages with me

For example: Tejinder Pal Singh

For example: Kuldip Singh Sandhu

An email address somebody actually reads. Notices under a document like this can be sent to it, so a working one matters more than a tidy one.

For example: kuldip.sandhu@example.com

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the whole document, not a sample of it. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

ENCLOSURES

__________

LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 governs the complaint this notice prepares. A defect in goods is defined in section 2(10) and a deficiency in a service in section 2(11); a consumer who bought goods or hired a service for consideration, and not to resell or for a commercial purpose, may complain under section 35, and the District Commission, under sections 34 and 39, can order removal of the defect, replacement, refund of the price, compensation and costs. A complaint must be filed within two years of the day the cause of action arose (section 69). Where goods are sold, section 16 of the Sale of Goods Act, 1930 implies a condition that they are fit for the purpose the buyer made known and relied on the seller for (section 16(1)), and, where they are sold by description by a seller who deals in such goods, that they are of merchantable quality (section 16(2)). The remedy under the Act is in addition to any other law (section 100), so the buyer may instead sue in the civil court having jurisdiction, and an appeal from its decree goes to the District Judge or to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. An appeal from the District Commission's order goes to the State Commission within 45 days under section 41. No fee is payable on the notice.

Chandigarh: The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and section 16 of the Sale of Goods Act, 1930 apply in the Union Territory in the same terms: the meanings of defect and deficiency in sections 2(10) and 2(11), the complaint under section 35, the relief in section 39, the two-year limit in section 69, and the implied conditions of fitness and merchantable quality in section 16(1) and 16(2). The District Commission serving the Union Territory hears the complaint, with an appeal to the State Commission within 45 days under section 41. The remedy is in addition to any other law (section 100), so the buyer may sue in the civil court at Chandigarh instead, with an appeal to the District Judge, Chandigarh, or to the Punjab and Haryana High Court. No fee is payable on the notice.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
