DJ, Band or Artist Booking

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Your answers

Nothing answered yet. There are 6 questions on this form.

Still to answer

6 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The artist and the host
  2. The event and the timings
  3. Sound and equipment
  4. Fee and payment
  5. Cancellation and refund
  6. Disputes and signing

Step 1 of 6

The artist and the host

For example: DJ Rhythm and Team

For example: Karan Mehta

A number somebody can be reached on. Ten digits is the usual Indian form, and a country code in front of it is fine if you want it there.

For example: 9815012345

For example: Harpreet Singh Gill

Host's addressNeeded

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

DJ, BAND OR ARTIST BOOKING AGREEMENT

BETWEEN

__________, mobile __________, acting through __________ (the "Artist");

AND

__________, of __________, mobile __________ (the "Host").

  1. 1. THE BOOKING

1.2 The Artist performs in person. The Artist will not send a substitute without the Host's agreement, unless the Artist is ill or otherwise cannot attend, in which case clause 6 applies.

1.3 The Artist will play music suitable for the guests and the occasion, will take reasonable requests from the Host, and will not play anything the Host asks it not to play.

  1. 2. SOUND LIMITS AND EQUIPMENT

2.2 The Artist will keep the sound within the limits that the law allows and that any condition of the venue's permission or of a public authority sets. The Host will tell the Artist, before the event, of any limit or condition that applies to the venue.

2.3 If the venue, the police or another authority orders the sound lowered or stopped, the Artist will comply at once. If the order arose because the Host or the venue lacked a permission the event needed, or because of a rule of the venue, the full fee remains payable. If it arose because the Artist went above a limit the Host had told it about, the fee is reduced in proportion to the time lost.

2.6 The Host will provide a safe, stable power supply and a covered, secure place for the equipment, and the Artist is responsible for its own equipment unless it is damaged by the guests or the Host's other vendors.

  1. 3. FEE AND PAYMENT
  1. 4. IF THE HOST CANCELS OR THE EVENT IS STOPPED

4.3 If the Artist has arrived and is ready to perform at the agreed time but the event is cancelled or does not go ahead for a reason on the Host's side, the full fee is payable.

  1. 5. FORCE OUTSIDE EITHER SIDE'S CONTROL
  1. 6. IF THE ARTIST CANNOT ATTEND

6.2 If the Artist fails to attend on or close to the day of the event without telling the Host in time, it also pays the Host's reasonable extra cost of arranging other music, shown by bills, up to the total fee under this Agreement.

  1. 7. GENERAL

7.1 This Agreement is the whole understanding between the parties about the booking of the Artist for this event. A change is valid only if it is in writing and both parties sign it or both confirm it in a written message.

The rest stays out of view until every answer is in.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
