When you need it

You are booking a DJ, a band, a singer or another performer in Punjab or Chandigarh for a wedding, sangeet or party, or you are the performer and want the booking in writing. This booking agreement fixes the date, arrival and performance times, the latest time the sound must stop, who brings the sound system and equipment, the fee and advance, and what happens if the performer does not turn up or the event is stopped.

The time sound must stop is set by the law and by the venue's permissions, not by this form. You are asked to write down the time that applies to your venue; confirm it locally before you sign. Not for hiring the venue — see the Marriage Palace or Banquet Booking Agreement. Not for a wedding planner who books all the vendors — see the Wedding Planner Agreement.

What follows is written for Punjab and Chandigarh. It states the position there rather than describing how it varies, so the amounts below are the ones that apply — worth confirming at the sub-registrar’s office, because rates change. If the property is anywhere else in India, none of this is yours.

Stamp duty

An agreement of this kind falls under the general entry for agreements not otherwise provided for in the stamp law, and the figure for Punjab and for Chandigarh is not confirmed here. Ask a stamp vendor or the Sub-Registrar office for the current figure before you sign. Many such bookings are made on plain paper; an unstamped paper can be questioned in court until the duty and any penalty are paid.

Registration

Not required. This agreement gives no right in land or buildings that outlasts the booking, so it does not need to be registered.

Notarisation

Not required. A notary adds nothing to the strength of this agreement.

Witnesses

Not required by law, but two witnesses who see both parties sign are good practice, and this form asks for them.

DJ, BAND OR ARTIST BOOKING AGREEMENT

This Agreement is made at Chandigarh on 2 April 2026.

BETWEEN

DJ Rhythm and Team, mobile 9815012345, acting through Karan Mehta (the "Artist");

AND

Harpreet Singh Gill, of House 118, Sector 21, Chandigarh, mobile 9876543210 (the "Host").

  1. 1. THE BOOKING

1.1 The Host books the Artist to perform at a wedding on 2 April 2026 at Royal Orchid Banquet, Sector 35, Chandigarh. The Artist will arrive by 5:00 pm to set up and do a sound check, will start performing at 8:00 pm, and will perform for 3 hours, with a break of 15 minutes.

1.2 The Artist performs in person. The Artist will not send a substitute without the Host's agreement, unless the Artist is ill or otherwise cannot attend, in which case clause 6 applies.

1.3 The Artist will play music suitable for the guests and the occasion, will take reasonable requests from the Host, and will not play anything the Host asks it not to play.

  1. 2. SOUND LIMITS AND EQUIPMENT

2.1 All sound will stop by 10:30 pm, and the performance will end earlier if its length ends earlier. The Host will not ask the Artist to continue after that time.

2.2 The Artist will keep the sound within the limits that the law allows and that any condition of the venue's permission or of a public authority sets. The Host will tell the Artist, before the event, of any limit or condition that applies to the venue.

2.3 If the venue, the police or another authority orders the sound lowered or stopped, the Artist will comply at once. If the order arose because the Host or the venue lacked a permission the event needed, or because of a rule of the venue, the full fee remains payable. If it arose because the Artist went above a limit the Host had told it about, the fee is reduced in proportion to the time lost.

2.4 The Artist brings and sets up the sound system, lights and all other equipment needed, and the fee covers them.

2.5 Equipment list: Two 15-inch speakers, mixer, four moving lights, a wireless microphone and a fog machine

2.6 The Host will provide a safe, stable power supply and a covered, secure place for the equipment, and the Artist is responsible for its own equipment unless it is damaged by the guests or the Host's other vendors.

2.7 The Host will provide for the Artist and the crew: Dinner for six, bottled water on stage and a closed room for changing

  1. 3. FEE AND PAYMENT

3.1 The Host will pay the Artist a total fee of ₹60,000 (Rupees Sixty Thousand only).

3.2 The Host paid ₹20,000 (Rupees Twenty Thousand only) as advance on 1 April 2026, and the Artist confirms receiving it. The advance counts towards the total fee. The balance is paid before the performance begins.

3.3 The total fee already includes every tax payable on it.

3.4 Travel and stay: Return taxi fare from Ludhiana, paid by the Host on the day
