Licensed Weapon Transfer NOC and Affidavit

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Still to answer

6 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The seller
  2. The weapon and the transfer

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

NOC AND AFFIDAVIT FOR SALE OR TRANSFER OF A LICENSED WEAPON

Addressed to: __________, the Licensing Authority under the Arms Act, 1959.

  1. 1. THE WEAPON AND THE SELLER'S LICENCE
  1. 2. THE TRANSFER
  1. 3. THE SELLER'S NO-OBJECTION AND DECLARATIONS

3.1 The Seller has no objection to the Licensing Authority permitting this transfer, and to the Weapon being removed from the Seller's licence and entered on the Buyer's licence, as the Licensing Authority may direct.

3.2 The Seller declares that the Seller is the lawful holder of the Weapon under the licence above; that, to the Seller's knowledge, the Weapon is not stolen and is not the subject of any pending case, seizure, attachment or dispute; that it is not mortgaged, pledged or otherwise encumbered; and that the Seller has not transferred it, and will not transfer it, to anyone else.

  1. 4. THE BUYER'S DECLARATIONS

4.2 The Buyer is a citizen of India, of sound mind, not suffering from any condition that would disqualify the Buyer from holding arms under the Arms Act, 1959, and not addicted to alcohol or to any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

4.4 No order of any court or authority now in force debars the Buyer from possessing arms.

  1. 5. OUR UNDERTAKINGS

5.1 Neither of us will hand over, or take delivery of, the Weapon until the Licensing Authority has permitted the transfer and the Weapon has been entered on the Buyer's licence.

5.2 Until then the Seller will keep the Weapon safely and securely as the Arms Rules, 2016 require. After the transfer the Buyer will do the same, will use the Weapon only for the purpose and within the conditions of the Buyer's licence, and will report any loss or theft to the nearest police station without delay.

  1. 6. DECLARATION

6.1 Every statement made above is true to our own knowledge and belief, and we have concealed nothing material. We are aware that furnishing false information in connection with an arms licence is an offence under the Arms Act, 1959, besides being an offence of giving false evidence, and that the transfer may be refused and the licences affected if any statement made here is found false.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
