Resolution to Open a Bank Account

Answer what you can. The draft beside these boxes is rewritten as you go, so you can see exactly what each answer does to the document.

What you type stays in this browser. Moving to a new step asks this site to draw it, but nothing is kept anywhere until you choose to keep a copy — and closing this tab loses it.

Your answers

Nothing answered yet. There are 7 questions on this form.

Still to answer

7 answers are still to come.

Nothing is amiss in what you have written. The document is simply not finished, and the draft marks each gap where an answer will go.

  1. The organisation and the meeting
  2. The account and who operates it
  3. Signing and the record

Step 1 of 3

The organisation and the meeting

For example: Sri Guru Nanak Seva Trust

For example: Trust deed dated 5 March 2018

What is its office address?Needed
Who is passing the resolution?Needed

A calendar date — the day, the month and the year. Dates in a document like this are read against one another, so a date typed here can change what another date is allowed to be.

Where was the meeting held?Needed

Enough people must be present to meet the quorum in your trust deed or society rules.

A long answer. Several lines are fine, and a break you make between paragraphs is the break the document keeps.

For example: Harpreet Singh, Naina Kaur, Gurpreet Singh

Read the whole draft

Clearing empties every box on this form, and there is no way back to what was in them.

The live draft

The draft, as it stands

This is the document as far as you have reached, not the whole of it yet — the rest appears as you answer more questions. It is rewritten every time you change an answer.

A long blank line — __________ — stands wherever an answer has not been given. It is left that visible on purpose, so an unfinished document cannot be mistaken for a finished one.

No answer has been given, so every place a detail belongs is standing blank. The shape of the document is worth reading even now.

RESOLUTION TO OPEN A BANK ACCOUNT

Extract of the minutes of a meeting of __________ of __________, __________, constituted by __________ (the Organisation), held on __________ at __________.

PRESENT

RESOLVED

It was further resolved that this authority continues until a later resolution of the same kind changes it and a certified copy of that later resolution reaches the Bank, and that the Bank may rely on this resolution until then.

CERTIFIED TRUE COPY

I certify that this is a true copy of a resolution passed at the meeting of __________ of __________ held on __________, that it is recorded in the minutes, and that it has not been cancelled or changed.

LEGAL BASIS

Punjab and Chandigarh: The Organisation acts through the persons its trust deed or rules authorise. This resolution is valid only if the meeting was called and held as the trust deed or the rules require, and it does not give any signatory a right in the Organisation's money beyond operating the account for its objects. The Bank's own requirements for opening and operating the account, including identity papers for each signatory, are separate and apply as the Bank states.

PERSONAL DATA NOTICE

This notice is given under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

The purpose of collecting personal data in this bank account resolution is to record who decided to open the account and who may operate it, and to support the Bank's checks on the Organisation and its signatories.

If the matter does not proceed, the personal data will be retained for 90 days and then erased. If the matter proceeds, the record will be retained for the matter plus 12 months, except where a statute requires a longer named retention period.

Data minimisation: this document does not collect a full Aadhaar number, an Aadhaar-card copy, a password or bank credentials.

SIGNATURE

The rest stays out of view until every answer is in.

Reading costs nothing. Keeping a copy needs an account.

The opening of the draft is on this page as you answer it. Once every answer is in, the button below opens the whole draft, watermarked — still without an account. Printing it, or keeping a clean copy, is where an account is asked for. That is the whole arrangement.

A kept copy has to belong to somebody, and that is the reason for the account. There is nothing further to it.
