To issue a clean admission-fee receipt that doesn't imply payment alone confers membership. State the applicant/member number, amount, mode and application status. S.15, Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 governs eligibility; bye-laws fix the fee; s.17 governs rights after payment, but a committee decision is still needed. Chandigarh: same Act, 1963 Rules. Needs a Re 1 stamp above Rs 5,000 (Art.53, Sch.I) in both.

LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 governs receipt of admission fee. Section 15 governs membership eligibility and section 17 addresses member rights after due payments; the fee amount comes from registered bye-laws/current society approval. The society/managing committee receives the first filing and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Punjab is the statutory supervisory authority. The current fee and processing period for this precise filing were not confirmed from the sources used. A refusal of otherwise qualified membership is appealable under section 68(c) within 60 days subject to condonation.
