Passport Annexure G: no-objection certificate from the employer
Annexure G is the format of the no-objection certificate (NOC) that the ministry, department or office where you work issues, saying it has no objection to your obtaining a passport. The controlling or administrative authority fills it in and signs it. The form says the NOC is valid for six months from the date of issue. You take it with your passport application.
Issued by: Ministry of External Affairs (Passport Seva), under the Passports Act, 1967
The form itself is in English, exactly as the issuing office prints it.
How to fill it in
- Ask your office to fill in the heading "Ministry/Department/Office of", the office's letter number and the date.
- Affix your photograph in the box. The issuing officer attests it so that half of the signature and rubber stamp falls on the photograph and half on the certificate, as the form says.
- "Shri/Smt/Miss ... s/o ...": your name and your father's or husband's name. Then the post you hold in the office and the date from which you have been employed there.
- The controlling or administrative authority signs and writes a telephone number or email and the office address, so that the Passport Authority can verify. The note on the form asks the authorised officer to sign with name and stamp.
