Form 7: objection to an entry, or deletion of a name, in the electoral roll
Form 7 is the voter application form for an objection to a proposed inclusion, or for deletion, of a name in the existing electoral roll. You can ask to delete a name already on the roll (for example for death, being under age, having permanently shifted, being already enrolled elsewhere, or not being an Indian citizen), object to a name proposed for inclusion, or ask to delete your own name. The form carries a false-declaration warning, so use it only for facts you know.
Issued by: Election Commission of India, under the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960
The form itself is in English, exactly as the issuing office prints it.
How to fill it in
- Top: write the number and name of the Assembly Constituency (or Parliamentary Constituency, only for Union Territories without a Legislative Assembly).
- Item 1: your name as the applicant, your EPIC number, and your own mobile number or a relative's.
- Item 2: tick one option only. (i) delete a name already in the roll, (ii) object to a proposed inclusion, or (iii) delete your own name. Then tick the one reason that applies: death, under age, absent or permanently shifted, already enrolled, or not an Indian citizen (option (iii) offers permanently shifted, already enrolled and not an Indian citizen). Say whether a death certificate is attached.
- Item 3: the details of the person the objection is about: name, surname, EPIC number if available, and the full address.
- Read the declaration (a false statement is punishable under Section 31 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950), then write the date and place and sign. Keep the acknowledgement slip: the form says you can use its number to check the status.
