VEHICLE HANDOVER AND CHALLAN UNDERTAKING

Made at S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali) on 1 April 2026.

I, Balwinder Singh, son of Jaswant Singh, of Village Burail, Chandigarh 160047, am employed as a driver by Gurpreet Singh Sandhu of House No. 56, Sector 21-C, Chandigarh 160022 (the Owner). My driving licence details are: DL number as on the card, light motor vehicle, valid until 2030. I have shown the original licence to the Owner.

1. 1. THE VEHICLE. The Owner has handed over to me the vehicle Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, white, CH-01-AB-1234. I have received the following papers and accessories: Copy of registration certificate, insurance valid until 31 March 2027, pollution certificate, spare wheel, jack, first-aid kit, two keys. The meter reading and fuel level at handover are: 42,310 km, half a tank. The condition of the vehicle at handover is: Good running order. Small scratch on the rear left bumper. Both front tyres newly replaced in August 2026.

1. 2. USE. I will use the vehicle only for the owner’s family trips and office runs, as the owner directs. I will not lend it to anyone, carry passengers or goods for hire or outside the work, drive it for my own purposes, or take it out of the city without the Owner's permission.

1. 3. DRIVING. I will drive carefully and keep to all traffic rules and signals and speed limits. I will not drive after drinking alcohol or taking any drug, or when too tired. I will keep my licence valid for as long as I drive the vehicle and will tell the Owner at once if it is suspended or expires.

1. 4. CHALLANS AND FINES. If a challan or fine is issued for a breach of the traffic rules while I am driving, I will tell the Owner the same day and give the Owner the challan. If the breach was mine, I agree to pay the fine. The Owner may recover it from my wages only as far as the law on deductions from wages allows, and only after giving me a chance to explain. A challan that is not my fault is the Owner's matter, and I will help to contest it.

1. 5. ACCIDENTS AND DAMAGE. If there is an accident, damage, theft or breakdown, I will stop, make the vehicle and people safe, call for help, and tell the Owner at once. I will not settle with anyone on my own, and I will not say anything about who was at fault except to the police or the insurer. I will note down the names, numbers and place, and take photographs where I safely can. I will cooperate with the Owner, the police and the insurer. I accept responsibility for damage caused by my own rash or negligent driving, or by driving under the influence, subject to the law.

1. 6. CARE AND UPKEEP. I will keep the vehicle clean and in good order, report any fault, and have repairs and servicing done only as the Owner directs. I will not keep or use the papers except for driving the vehicle.

1. 7. RETURN. When the Owner asks, or when my job ends, I will return the vehicle, the keys, the papers and the accessories in the same condition as received, apart from fair wear. The Owner and I will note the meter reading and condition at that time.
