S.20, Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 restricts transfer to the Act/Rules/bye-law conditions (Chandigarh: same Act, 1963 Rules). State transferor, transferee, certificate, share numbers, approval, effective date. Doesn't convey the flat/plot/leasehold title itself — needs separate conveyance/registration/Estate Office action. LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 governs transfer of cooperative shares. Section 20 restricts transfer of a member's share or interest and the endorsement must follow the registered bye-laws and society register. The society/managing committee receives the first filing and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Punjab is the statutory supervisory authority. The current fee and processing period for this precise filing were not confirmed from the sources used. Section 55 supplies the Registrar dispute route for disputes touching the constitution, management or business of the society.
