When you need it

When the seller of a house or flat also sells movable things that stay in it: beds, wardrobes, modular kitchen units, air-conditioners, geysers, lights and the like. The receipt lists each item, states a separate price paid for them, and records that they pass to the buyer today.

Keep this price apart from the price of the property in the sale deed, and make it a fair value for the items. Things permanently built into the property pass with the property under the sale deed and need not be listed here. Not for a tenant's inventory (use the Inventory and Fixtures Schedule), or a car or bike (use the Vehicle Sale Receipt and Delivery Note).

3. The price above is for these items alone. It is separate from the price of the property in the sale deed or agreement, and it is the fair value of the items at the date of sale.
