S.21, Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 lets the society transfer to the nominee, or absent one, to the heir/legal representative — a transmission mechanism, not a will deciding property rights. Punjab: Act, Rules, bye-laws; Chandigarh: same Act, 1963 Rules. State the membership, certificate, existing nominee if any, new nominee and replacement scope. Disputes: Registrar, s.55.

LEGAL BASIS

Punjab: The Punjab Co-operative Societies Act, 1961 governs nomination and later transmission. Section 21 governs transfer on death to a recorded nominee or, absent nomination, an heir/legal representative in accordance with the Act and Rules. The society/managing committee receives the first filing and the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Punjab is the statutory supervisory authority. The current fee and processing period for this precise filing were not confirmed from the sources used.
