You are hosting a relative or friend on a visit — whether you are inviting them to visit you abroad, or inviting a relative from abroad to visit you in India — and the visa or immigration authority asks for a written invitation letter from the host, describing the relationship, the purpose and length of the visit, and the accommodation and support being offered. General-purpose in both directions and across destination countries; it is not any one consulate's own prescribed form, and some consulates require their own invitation-letter proforma instead of, or in addition to, this one.

The purpose of the visit is a family visit. My daughter’s graduation ceremony

Accommodation: The Visitor will stay with me at my address above for the duration of the visit X

Financial support during the visit: I will bear the cost of the Visitor’s stay, including food and local expenses, for its duration X

I confirm that I am able to support this invitation and will be available to provide any further information the visa or immigration authority may require, and I request that a visa be granted to Harleen Kaur for the visit described above.
