When you need it

The full terms on which someone joins your company as an employee, issued on or before their date of joining in a Punjab or Chandigarh workplace — designation, reporting line, compensation, probation, working hours, leave, statutory benefits, confidentiality and the notice period on either side. Where the Offer Letter is a short statement of intent, this is the governing document: it is what an employee, an inspector or a court looks at to answer what the terms of the employment actually are. It is countersigned by the employee to record acceptance. Not for the first approach to a candidate — use the Offer Letter for that. Not for a fuller, formally executed contract with restrictive covenants for a senior hire — use the Employment Agreement. It states the position there rather than describing how it varies, so the amounts below are the ones that apply — worth confirming at the sub-registrar’s office, because rates change. Print it on the Company's letterhead. A contract of personal service of this kind is not an instrument the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 charges with ad valorem duty under its general "Agreement" entries, whether issued in Punjab or in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, and no stamp paper is needed for it — plain paper is enough in both.

Registration

Not registrable. Section 17 of the Registration Act, 1908 reaches instruments creating or transferring an interest in immovable property, or specific instruments such as leases — a contract of employment is neither, in Punjab or in Chandigarh.

Notarisation

Not required. The employee's countersignature accepting the letter is enough to record their assent under the Indian Contract Act, 1872; a notary adds nothing to it.

Witnesses

None needed by law. The authorised signatory signs for the Company and the employee countersigns to accept — no attesting witness is called for on either side, though the Company may have a second representative co-sign as a matter of internal practice.

  1. WORK LOCATION. Your place of work will be Unit 305, Third Floor, Tower B, Bestech Business Tower, Sector 66, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), subject to the Company's right to reassign your work location in the ordinary course of its business, on reasonable notice to you.
  1. NATURE OF ENGAGEMENT AND PROBATION. You are appointed as a full-time, permanent employee of the Company, subject to a probationary period of 6 months from 2 April 2026. The Company will confirm your appointment in writing on satisfactory completion of probation, and may extend the probationary period once by written notice if your performance needs further assessment.
  1. DATE OF JOINING. Your date of joining is 2 April 2026.
  1. COMPENSATION. Your annual cost to the Company (CTC) is ₹9,60,000 (Rupees Nine Lakh Sixty Thousand only), made up as follows: Basic Rs 4,00,000; HRA Rs 2,00,000; special allowance Rs 2,60,000; retiral benefits Rs 1,00,000. Salary is paid by the 7th day of the following calendar month, by bank transfer to the account you provide, after deduction of tax at source under s.192 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 and of the statutory contributions clause 8 describes.
