The agreement is a plain, balanced rent agreement written for the landlord's side. The petition is the landlord's own petition to the Rent Controller, with the ground you choose, the facts you give, the rent due if any, and the relief asked. It is not the court's printed form, and the Rent Controller's office may ask you to file it in a particular way. Before an eviction petition, check that the ground fits what the Haryana rent law allows and that any notice has been given. Take a lawyer's advice before filing. Stamp duty

Rent agreement: on stamp paper or e-stamp of the value that applies in Haryana for its term and rent; this document does not state the value, so confirm it with a stamp vendor or the Sub-Registrar. Eviction petition: no stamp on the petition itself, but the court fee and process fee are as the Rent Controller's office states.

Registration

A rent agreement for one year or more must be registered at the Sub-Registrar; a shorter one need not be, though many people register it. The eviction petition is not registered; it is filed with the Rent Controller.

Notarisation

The agreement need not be notarised to be valid, though it is often done for convenience. The petition is signed and verified; the Rent Controller may ask for a supporting affidavit sworn before a notary or an Oath Commissioner.

Witnesses

The agreement has two witnesses, who sign beside the landlord and the tenant. The petition needs no witness.

RENT AGREEMENT

This agreement is made at Panchkula on 3 April 2026 between Rajesh Kumar, son / daughter / wife of Shri Mohan Lal, resident of House 12, Sector 8, Panchkula, mobile +91 XXXXX XXXXX (the Landlord), and Amit Verma, son / daughter / wife of Shri Suresh Verma, resident of Village Kheri, District Ambala (the Tenant).

1. The Landlord lets to the Tenant the property at House 12, Sector 8, Panchkula for residential use only, for 11 months from 1 April 2026.
2. The monthly rent is ₹15,000 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only), payable on or before day 5 of each month.
3. The Tenant has paid a refundable security deposit of ₹30,000 (Rupees Thirty Thousand only). It will be returned when the Tenant hands back vacant possession, after deducting any unpaid rent, charges and damage beyond normal wear.
4. The Tenant will use the property for residence only, will not sublet or part with possession, will make no structural change, and will pay the electricity, water and other charges for his or her own use.
5. Either side may end the tenancy by giving the other one month's written notice. At the end of the tenancy the Tenant will return vacant possession with the keys.
