When you need it

Your visa file carries bank statements, deposits, property papers, tax returns, salary slips and loan papers, and the officer has only a short time to find the one that answers a question. This is a numbered index you put at the front of the financial section: what each paper is, whose it is, the period it covers and the pages it runs over.

Not for: a letter explaining how funds were built up or an education loan (use the Funds and Education Loan Explanation Letter), a CA's certificate of net worth (use the CA Net Worth Certificate Request and Asset List), or a sponsor's promise to pay (use the Sponsor Financial Undertaking (Visa)).
