When you need it

A visa or immigration authority wants a chartered accountant's certificate of your net worth, or of a sponsor's, and the CA needs from you a clear list of what you own and owe before signing anything. This is your covering request and that list: assets in groups, liabilities, the date they are valued as on, and the papers you are handing over for the CA to check.

It is a request and a statement by you. It is not the certificate; only the CA can issue that, on the CA's own letterhead and after examining your papers. Not for: a bank's or lender's own application for credit.

Main sources of income behind these assets: Farming income, rent from a shop in Faridkot, and savings from past employment

Papers handed over for your examination: Jamabandi, registered title deeds, bank statements for 12 months, FD receipts, demat statement, loan statements, income-tax returns for the last three years
