Stamp duty

Punjab: Article 4, Schedule 1-A to the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 as applicable to Punjab, non-judicial stamp paper, commonly Rs 10, e-stamped via SHCIL (shcilestamp.com) or bought from a licensed vendor. Chandigarh: Article 4, Schedule I to the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 as extended to the Union Territory, the same nominal denomination, from SHCIL or the Treasury, Sector 17. Confirm the denomination with the vendor on the day of purchase.

Registration

Not a registrable instrument. The application and affidavit go into the Licensing Authority's case file, where the renewal is decided after the Authority's own verification, commonly through the police station concerned. There is no Sub-Registrar step.

Notarisation

Sworn or affirmed before a Notary Public (Notaries Act, 1952) or an Executive Magistrate/Oath Commissioner appointed for Punjab or for the Union Territory of Chandigarh, who verifies the identity of each person signing and signs, stamps and dates the affidavit before it is filed.

Witnesses

None required by law for the affidavit beyond the notarial attestation; the Licensing Authority verifies the holder independently rather than through a witness.

  1. 2. I request that the licence be renewed for the period the Licensing Authority allows under the Arms Act, 1959 and the Arms Rules, 2016.
  1. 3. I am making this application before the date up to which the licence is valid.

I, Gurpreet Singh, son of Sh. Harbans Singh, aged about 46 years, resident of House No. 212, Model Town, Ludhiana, Punjab 141002, holding Aadhaar 4444 5555 6666, ordinarily resident within the State of Punjab (the "Deponent" or "I"), do hereby solemnly affirm and declare as follows:

  1. 1. THE LICENCE

1.1 I hold Arms Licence No. LDH/2016/0417 (issued 12 March 2021 by the District Magistrate, Ludhiana), valid up to 1 April 2026, for the arms described in paragraph 4 of Part A.

  1. 2. THE ARMS

2.1 The arms are in my possession and have been kept safely at the address given above.

  1. 3. OTHER LICENCES

3.1 I do not hold any other arms licence.

  1. 4. CHANGES SINCE THE LICENCE WAS LAST GRANTED OR RENEWED

4.1 There has been no change in my address, in the purpose for which I hold the arms or in my circumstances since the licence was last granted or renewed.

  1. 5. FITNESS AND ANTECEDENTS

5.1 I remain a citizen of India, of sound mind, not suffering from any condition that would disqualify me from holding a licence under the Arms Act, 1959, and not addicted to alcohol or to any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance.

5.2 I have not been convicted of any criminal offence, and no criminal case, FIR or proceeding is pending against me in any court in India.

5.3 No order of any court or authority now in force debars me from possessing arms, and my licence has not been suspended, revoked or cancelled.

  1. 6. UNDERTAKING

6.1 If the licence is renewed, I undertake to keep the arms and ammunition safely and securely as the Arms Rules, 2016 require, to produce the arms and the licence for inspection when called upon, to report any loss or theft to the nearest police station without delay, and to use the arms only for the purpose and within the conditions of the licence.
