Stamp duty

This self-declaration carries no fixed stamp duty; the Family ID portal accepts it as an uploaded signed document, not an instrument on stamp paper. Where a Common Service Centre operator asks for it on stamp paper before forwarding it, that is the centre's own practice rather than a departmental requirement — ask the centre before paying for one.

Registration

This self-declaration is submitted to the Citizen Resources Information Department for its own record and is not an instrument the Registration Act, 1908 requires to be registered. Keep the acknowledgement or reference number the portal or the centre issues; that number is what tracks the correction request.

Notarisation

The Family ID portal's own Update/Correction module accepts this declaration with a plain signature, uploaded together with the supporting document — no notarisation is asked for online. A Common Service Centre operator may ask for it to be notarised for a disputed or high-value income correction; ask the particular centre before relying on a plain signature.

Witnesses

Neither the portal nor a Common Service Centre ask for an attesting witness to this declaration; the supporting document, and the local verifier's own check, are what the correction is tested against.
