When you need it

Your own covering application to the HSVP Estate Officer asking the authority to execute and register the conveyance deed in your favour. This is the paper that gives you final title as owner once the allotment terms have been met.

You usually need the allotment paid up and a no dues certificate first, and for a built house the completion or occupation paper the authority asks for. If something is still due, the office will tell you the amount. The deed itself is drawn and signed at the authority and registered at the Sub-Registrar; stamp duty and registration fee are charged at that stage at the rates then in force. This letter only starts the process. Not for: a transfer to a buyer (use the HSVP Transfer Permission Application); a mortgage (use the HSVP Permission to Mortgage).

Stamp duty

No stamp duty on the covering application; plain paper. The conveyance deed itself carries stamp duty and a registration fee at the rates in force on the day it is signed, and the office will tell you the amount: confirm it with the office before you arrange the money.

Registration

This application is not registered. The conveyance deed that follows is registered at the Sub-Registrar's office; the authority will tell you how and when. HSVP's own procedure and fee schedule are as the office states when you file.

Notarisation

The application is signed, not sworn. Affidavits and undertakings the office asks for are sworn before a notary or an Oath Commissioner.

Witnesses

No witness is needed for the application. A deed that follows needs the witnesses that deed requires.
